Straight and simple: I read a lot of news about the upcoming SSD that are on the horizon. Very impressive stuff. Here's the part where my search-fu gets weak: $$$

I wanna get more SSD's - and now the prices for a lot of current gen SSD have gone down a bit due to vendors clearing stock. It's getting very tempting.

However a friend keeps telling me the new SSD's will be bigger and cheaper... yet I fail to find a reliable "commercial source" to confirm that. Is there proof that next gen SSD will offer more room for the same price, or will the $ per GB stay the same?

Anyone have a "gestimate" for how much the new SSD sizes will be? I'd hate to buy a 256GB SSD right now, and then a month later, discover that I could have gotten a 320GB (or bigger) for the same price. On the other hand, I'd hate to see that the new 256GB will cost exactly the same as they do now, and I lost a chance to get a 256GB drive for $100 cheaper...

Yes, the MSRP have been listed, at least with the Marvell C400. The only price I remember off the top of my head is the 128GB for $210 USD, which works out to be $1.641/GB. While this isn't much different from the current cut pricing, it will most likely be purchasable for a lower price.

Some prices of the new Intel's in this article: New 34nm SSD have 450/300MB/s R/W

Keep in mind though it's all speculation. No one knows until they're released.

Steep pricing from Intel as usual... and not even a G3.
