    Hi
I'm looking for new notebook and I was wondering if Intel HD 4400 card could handle 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 on external monitor at 60fps in non-mirrored mode?
I know that Intel 4000 can handle that resolution but only at 30 fps, but I couldn't find any information for 4400.

    It does according to this.

However, here's a couple of people complaining that it doesn't work.

You aren't looking to play games on that, right?

I will use that notebook for CAD / Photoshop , connected to external monitor. I have right now 1080p monitor but i would like to be future-proof.
In second link there is a problem with HDMI to DVI adapter so its hard to tell where is a problem, I also found this article with some hacks to enable 55hz on Intel HD 4000 so it should work on 4400

you are going to use a ULV for CAD work in a 1440p or 1600p?

ok, they should work at least the 4600 can without any hack, now you have to know if the ports that you have actually enable that for you

Having a HD4400 for CAD is far less "future-proof" than having the ability to render >1080p, imo.

If you read the whole thread, you will see another person that claims to NOT use the adapter and have a direct HDMI link and still have a problem.
