Its an ES final version. Please let me know what you think. +rep for those who help..

Is this for an upgrade to your current CPU? If so, you probably wont notice a huge difference to be honest.

Tinderbox (UK) BAKED BEAN KING
I have a p8400 and my next upgrade will be a quad core once the price drops.
-
Does this mean that it is also overclockable since it's an ES and not OEM or Retail?
Looks good though, might think about fitting it in my 5796. Good find. -
Its not an upgrade for me, its for my wifes laptop. I am buying it..

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Even if it did have an unlocked multiplier, you won't be able to overclock it unless your BIOS supports multiplier overclocking (and even then, I'd imagine it's partly a crapshot). -
Also, remember that engineering samples usually don't have a temp sensor
-
oh, i retract my comment, this one does have it
-
It seems its well worth the price. Its the cheapest I could find in ''NEW'' I paid more for a T7700 used..
-
Indeed its a nice price for a P8600, but looking at your sig I guess you wont notice a huge increase of performance, maybe a P9500 would be better for you.
-
As I said before its not for my laptops, its for my wifes..

Maybe you should post specs for her notebook then, so we know what she is upgrading from. Also, what types of things she does on the notebook? For most day-to-day applications, I wouldn't bother spending the money on upgrading the CPU as it would yield rather low benefit for the cost.

If your wife is a gamer, runs scientific calculations, develops software, etc. then it might be worth it to upgrade. You should really posts the specs of her notebook so people can determine if it is worth it.
