I was looking on NotebookCheck.net for CPU benchmark and noticed the P9700 cpu was on the list of laptop CPUs. It whops a 2.8Ghz speed with 6MB L2 cache and uses only 25W TDP. This comes close to the T9800/T9900. The problem is that where can we buy this CPU? I cannot find it anywhere on eBay, etc.

It's not official yet. The same thing happens with the T9900, P8800, and the P9700. Those 3 haven't been officially released yet, but the T9900 is on ebay already and the P8800 and 9700 are in Intel documents, so there is a good chance they will be released soon. Patience.

They must be releasing it late as part of their marketing strategy... Hopefully it will be in local stores soon.

T9900 and P9700 will be the last processors before the new platform. It may take upto a while for them to be in the market...

I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few more Montevina CPUs released, Clarksfield is still a good bit away, and Arrandale is even further away. It's tough for me to imagine Intel not releasing some new mainstream Montevina chips, because with Arrandale so far away, that'd be a long time (almost a year) without releasing anything the mainstream/budget market segment.

For laptops is Clarksdale and Arrandale. Auburndale was canceled and Clarkdale is desktop.

Oops, thanks, corrected my post accordingly. Intel's naming conventions are too easy to mix up.
