I got a Toshiba laptop with a T2310 Processor (1.46ghz), the Intel x3100, 1GB RAM and Vista Home Premium. I plan to upgrade to 2 GB RAM.

I plan to install my older games like Warcraft III, Diablo II, Heroes Of Might & Magic, Age Of Empires. I hope they run well.

I am aware it's not a gaming laptop but, do you think i can run some new games like Company of Heroes, Call Of Duty, Half Life 2, Command&Conquer3?

Is it worth it to upgrade to 4GB of RAM, would it make a difference?

    I would apreciate your comments.

    Thanks..

Your problem is the graphics card. It is integrated and cannot run most newer games. There is nothing you can do about it outside of buying a new computer.

I have "Medal of Honor" 2003 and it runs 40-50 FPS with everything maxed out. The X3100 is not a bad IGP...it's better than my Go6150 especially with Halo maxed....big difference.....it will only get better when Intel gets around to tweaking their drivers. Rumor has it Mid-Feb or early March.

See my rig below. I use it mainly for surfing, papers, documents, music and stuff. But it does decent with the occasional gaming.

BTW, the T2310 is a C2D running at 533/ 1 MB cache and speed tests put it almost identical to the C2D T5250!!!! It's a good chip.

It will play Half life 2 and COD1 , Maybe even COD 4 on lowest lowest settings (that game is so well optimised, even my x1400 can run it @ medium)
