    This may seem like a stupid question but is the Intel Pentium Dual-Core the same as intel core 2 duo? Which one is faster?

    No, it's not. Pentium D and Core 2 Duo are different. The Core 2 Duo is faster.

    The latest Pentium Dual Cores are stripped-down Memron Core 2 Duos, as they have a portion of the L2 cache disabled. PDCs are in the budget segment.

    Yes.. and they have smaller caches, i.e. lower performing.
