    Hi,
I'm a bit of a duffer with this stuff, could someone please give me some sort of clue which is the better CPU?
They are both in the same price range, though the intel machine has DDR2 400mhz Ram and a 80gb hdd, while the AMD machine has a 100GB Hdd and 333mhz Ram. all the other specs are similar.
The main use would probably be video and gaming.

Gaming will depend on the video card.

Athlon 4000+ is considerably faster, but will run hotter.

I'd suggest going to our What to Buy forum and completing the FAQ. We'll help you find a notebook.

I say go with whichever is cheaper.

    They're both great cpu's.
