I'm thinking about grabbing the vaio flip 11 but I'm unsure if the cpu is more than enough power to handle a fullhd laptop smoothly in regards to basic day to day multitasking, opening folders/programs with no lag and being able to pay 720p/1080p videos of any formats smoothly with no lag or stuttering.
I'm a little hesitant because I had the AMD A6-1450 cpu before on an 11.6 laptop with only 768p resolution and it was too slow and anemic just to move around and some videos played choppy compared to former core i cpu laptops.
Thanks and let me know.![]()

It is about 25% more powerful - you'll need to take it out for a test drive to know for sure in your real world scenarios.
-
Is it 25% more powerful than the A6-1450 you say? Is it on the same scenario, since A6-1450 was running a 1366x768 display, do you mean it will run 25% more power when also ran at 1366x768? I'm really worried because this N3520 will run it at 1080p display instead of 768p so that 25% benefit might not apply here. What do you think?
I got one way to test it b4 pulling the trigger on that vaio flip 11 since Sony website don't have the black color yet and only silver and I prefer the black color. Best Buy has the Yoga 2 11 running at 1366x768 with the same processor N3520. -
Intel 4500MHD graphics could handle 1080P, I don't think the N3520's HD GPU will have a problem.
-
The resolution doesn't matter for the processor. If it works fine at 768p, it will be the same at 1080p.

Handle 1080p in what sense? Computers fifteen years ago could handle 1080p too. If you want to play a 1080p movie file it will be just as much work for the cpu and gpu on a 1080p screen or a 768p screen. Screen resolution only really matters for gpus while paying games.

I'm talking about when the source is 1080p. You can test out the performance of that even on a 1366x768 screen.

Thanks for all the replies guys. So from what I'm reading, the Bay Trail N3520 on the FHD Vaio Flip 11 is strong enough to handle the flip 11's 1080p display in day to day general surfing, opening programs/folder, multiple tabs web browsing and playing 1080p videos smoothly with no lag?

Here's a nice review of the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 11 (Bay Trail Pentium N3520) in Czech (I used Google Chrome to translate it).

I'm wondering if the HDD can be upgraded to an SSD on the yoga 2 11 -
Of course it can.
Intel Pentium N3520 Bay Trail M. Can it handle a FULLHD laptop??
