    Intel SRT Cache (HDD and mSSD in RAID), defrag ?

    Is it me or it isn't as smart as it is ? You have two drives in RAID, mSSD as cache only for the HDD. But if you defrag, you hurt the SSD, if you don't you hurt the HDD performance. So ?

    Windows 7/8 will automatically defrag the platter based drives. You shouldn't ever have to do anything.

    Unless you write massive amounts of random non-sequential data, defrag shouldn't cross your mind.

    Read some response from Intel, and they said Windows will see the SSD as cache and will only show the HDD if I plan to defrag. Goooooood
