    Hi guys,

would like some advice on setting up Intel SRT.

Just got myself a new MyDigitalSSD 32mb mSATA card and was trying to set it up.

After plugging it in, I was able to see the drive in both the Bios and Windows, but the Intel SRT software did not have the acceleration option.

After researching a bit, I read that it was necessary to change the SATA settings to RAID.

However, when I changed the SATA settings in the Bios to RAID, Windows refused to start up.

    Am I missing anything?

    Thanks!

    Yes.

AHCI uses different drivers to boot, changing to raid causes it to try and load using the wrong drivers.

You can either reinstall windows with the raid setting enabled or use a tool to force your HAL to change from the current ACPI setting.

Try using a windows disc and go into the repair options to get it to repair, not sure it works in this situation but it's the easiest way.

Yeah I know, but how does one just activate Intel SRT with a new mSATA then? Or is it a must to reformat?

I just put in a 32 gb msata ssd as well. However, i didn't have to go through RAID to do it. Can you give us some info on your system?

Also, did you partition the drive at all or allocate space?

i went to the device manager with mine (Windows 7) , found out it was unallocated and then allocated the space into a partition. When the partition was made, a small box pooped up asking if i wanted to use the intel srt, and i clicked on it and set it up.

hmm yes but i used the tool in control panel (Create and format hard disk partitions) to allocate the space - into a single partition. Nothing popped out for me though!

The 'tool' you used is the same - there must be something about your setup (specific hardware and/or software/BIOS settings) that is not allowing the SRT capabilities to be recognized.

You can copy to/from the mSATA drive, right? You do have required Intel RST driver installed?

Hmm... I never needed to change mine to RAID. Check the mSATA drives properties. see if caching is already enabled. What OS are you running? I;m running WIN7, so i can talk you through finding it if you need help at all :)
