    I have an intel x25-m 80GB G1.
I updated my SSD to the new firmware release back in April-ish. So it should be fine right?
I recently took the SSD out of my old HP HDX16t and placed it into my Alienware M17x. I plan to keep it permanently in my M17x. I reformatted vista onto the SSD. I didn't wipe it out with HDDerase beforehand.

Anyways, I benchmarked my SSD recently and noticed some weird performance.

The read speed went up a lot up to ~275MB/s
However, my write speed dropped dramatically! !?

What did I do to get these results? And even though the read speed went up I feel that the system, overall, has decreased performance!
It feels very sluggish! Lethargic! Boot times have dramatically increased!

Can anyone lend a tip or suggestion?

You need to use hdderase or something that will reset the disk.

That disk is only 80GB so using in one system then putting it in another without resetting it first is def the culprit.

Basically, every time your disk needs to write, it first has to delete and that is what is causing your slowdown.

Plus the fact that you quick format the drive to install Vista on it (I'm pretty sure this is what you did, but I could be wrong), the drive's LBA is completely filled. You definitely need to use HDDerase to reset the drive to factory state.

That looks like the ATTO screens of G1's that are permanently degraded until you run HDD Erase. Like others have said, run that, then re-install the OS.
