Looking at these processors, both of which are single-core:
    • Intel® Pentium® SU2700 (1.30GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
    • Intel® Core™2 Solo ULV SU3500 (1.40 GHz, 3M L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)

Since I'm looking at getting a laptop and have seen these processors being used in attractive laptops, which are decently priced. I want to ask the Notebook Review Forum if these processors can smoothly handle all of the following windows at the same time:
    • A few Firefox windows with plenty of tabs open in each
    • some HD videos
    • MS office
    • an Antivirus
    • an Audio player
    Thanks.

Core 2 Solo will perform better, but both will struggle with what your asking.

    First thing is first...

    its you're not your

Second, both CPUs will perform without issue. A 1.4ghz Core 2 is plenty to run what hes asking for.

More important is having enough ram.

Sure all that can be done at the same time, maybe not the "multiple HD videos" part. And why are you always trying to fight with somebody? Most of your posts are so angry and mean.

How many HD videos are you going to watch at the same time? :)

SU3500 will struggle with only one Youtube HD movie. Better get SU9400.

I really like the form factor and price point of these new notebooks.

Unfortunately, I do a lot of video encoding, so the CPU horsepower is not enough for me :(

clearly the su3500 is better, but both are weak. Neither can handle Youtube HD video, for example. I am on the same hunt, and the only low power processor that can cut it that is in anything even close to cheap is the Turion Neo X2 in the HP DV2.

SU9400 is quite a bit more powerful, but may not be cheap enough for you.
