I've always had ITM, from the 1gb module to the 2gb, and now finally the 4gb with user pinning. Only now with the 4gb can I tell a speed different. With all the programs I want pinned in the software, the computer is a screamer!! There is a DEFINITE speed increase in loading software (e.g. Photoshop and other programs opens up instantaneously). Bootup times aren't significantly increased though, only programs that are pinned in the ITM that load at bootup are able to speed up the boot process as far as I can tell. I'm still happy with it though as this is the first time I can positively say that ITM made a difference. I couldn't even tell with the 2gb module that anything was going on. The 2gb and 4gb modules have a LED on the card that flashes so that you can see activity as well (I can see the light of the LED at the bottom left of the laptop where the keyboard meets the palmrest on my particular model).

How does Turbo Memory work? Is it like RAMDisk?

I got it in ebay for just under $90. I think its a little cheaper now. Look for the 4gb module and make sure to get the right size for your laptop (half or full height). Mine was full height and I think most are.

Hankaaron - Turbo memory sort of does work like a RAMdisk. Read up wiki or Intel's site to explain how it works. The concept is genious really, just the execution especially with version 1 never realized noticeable gains. But with the 4gb card with faster non volatile and more memory, it sure seems to fly!!

No, as in a single stick of 4GB, to make 6GB overall.

    And Readyboost is crap.

It's good to read that ITM is starting to deliver.

There's a lot more potential for this technology to expand and give users the performance benefits of SSD without the cost.
