Too much disinformation on Google about this, is the Turbo Memory only for Vista? The driver model for Vista and 7 are practically identical..

Turbo Memory is a waste of time - unlike Vista x64. :)

I know of no notebooks that have Intel TM technology that shipped with Win7.

Will work in both 7 & Vista. Have a 2GB module in my T400. I would not have opted for but it was included in a pre-configured machine.

Well I acquired a 2 GB module for free, so waste of money it is not. I just didn't want to risk a blue screen to my machine due to it not being compatible. And how useless is Turbo Memory? I'm sure every little bit makes a difference..

It works fine with Windows 7 on my JFL92 -- no blue screens. That said, I have never felt much of an impact from it on performance, whether with Vista or with 7.

can't tell about Turbo Memory but I do notice a difference in ReadyBoost(4GB class 10 SDHC) so I won't say it is a waste of time.

In fact, just because it can make my fan stay idle 90% of time now worth the effort and I do notice a gain in speed say my browser usage.

This is on a vista machine.

Well ReadyBoost just uses any device with flash NAND memory? Is it similiar to Turbo Memory?

I think Turbo Memory is ReadyDrive which is an enhanced ReadyBoost. Yes, ReadyBoost juse use any device that meet certain characteristics (relatively fast random read speed mainly).

Surprisingly, I used an USB flash before on the same machine and it didn't help in my fan situation. Don't know why but I am very happy with the SDHC switch as it just makes the fan silent plus a minor(but noticeable) snappiness. The only noise I can hear now is the Scorpio Black spinning
