Hi!
I'm not satisified with the wireless performance of my Eee PC. My Asus G1S with the Intel 4965 Card has a greater range than the Eee PC with the Azurewave card.
I tried swapping the cards.
The 4965 has 3 connectors for antennae, and the G1S has 3 antennae cables.
The Azurewave has 2 connectors, the Eee PC 2 cables.
So I could only connect 2 ports with the 4965 in the Eee PC. Nonetheless, the wireless performance was a lot better than the Azurewave card, even with just 2 antennae.
That makes me want to buy a second Intel card. The question is, which one?
This thread ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=279689) suggests that the 5100 is less powerful than either 4965 or 5300.
It links to this article on Anandtech ( http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/intel/showdoc.aspx?i=3356&p=6), where the differences are shown.
But when I look at the cards themselves, they all have 3 connectors:
4965: http://geizhals.at/a278691.html
5100: http://geizhals.at/a399610.html
5300: http://geizhals.at/a399608.html
(Don't be alarmed by the language, just look at the pictures).
So my question is: Does it make any difference if there are only 2 cables to connect? The 5100 is about 10 Euro cheaper than the other two choices.
Sure, it's only ten bucks, but I want to make an informed desicion as a customer.
So, does anyone have any good advice? Is there any performance difference between 5100 and 5300 if you only connect 2 cables?

Aside from that, what I've found when my Mini 9 was still using 5100 (before I changed it to 5300) is that 5100 cannot maintain highest connection speed for long although located near the wireless router/access point. While 5300 doesn't have this problem.

So the best thing would be to get a 5300 for my G1S with 3 antennas, and put the 4965 ito the Eee PC?

Don't know about Eee 1000H, but I've installed the 3rd antenna inside my Mini 9. It's not that easy, but it's not that hard either.
