    Hi folks,

I was wondering if the "Reception" of the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN which is installed in a Gateway M-6862 can be INCREASED/ENHANCED!?!?

BTW, the card uses 3 Antennas (Black, White, & Gray).

I feel the "Intel 4965" reception might be "WEAK"!?!? I should receive some indication of Wireless around me.

Problem is the Wireless ICON in the Icon Tray stays X'ed out ... however when I double click it there are 2 or 3 wireless around me with 2 to 3 bar strength. And when I double clcik on one of them I do get connected.

Q1: So why my Tray Icon intermittently gets X'ed out!?!? And stays X'ed!

Q2: How can I verify that my Intel 4965 wireless card is not messed up?

Q3: Is there a way that I can BOOST my reception?

    Thanks!

    G! :)

Carry around a 200ft antenna and use electrical tape to secure it to the rear of your laptop. Should give you another good 2-3 feet of reception.

If you're connecting to your neighbor, it would mean that your card is ok. Sounds like the problem is with transmission. Check your router settings. I used to have problems in "G" only mode.

    Hi Noterev,

    Thanks for your reply.

I checked it. Also went to Intel and downloaded a "Newer" driver ... just in case.
