I just bought a 1 month old 80gb X25-M G2. I want to make sure it's like a new drive before installing the OS. Is there a BIOS command or something I'm meant to do to reset/erase the SSD so that all the data blocks are actually erased/clear like a new drive?

    What's the point?
    Wasting life on your SSD?

Just install your OS, if you are keen on Trim - install the toolbox and run it once.

It's an Intel drive - contrary to the competition its not bricked after you write a few GB without Trim.

I once wrote about 500GB or so to the drive (checked via the toolbox) and didn't notice any slowing down.

You're not using it as part of a RAID drive, are you? Actually even if so, I think it's good to run it separately and use the Intel SSD Optimizer it before adding it. Also, check for firmware updates from Intel.
