I just got an AMD Zacate notebook. I also have an Intel X25-M 120GB SSD that I put in there. Works great, except when I run the SSD Optimizer in the SSD Toolbox it says "Cannot run the Intel SSD Optimizer on RAID Configurations". My system does not support RAID and is set to AHCI.

I checked the disabledeletenotify value and it's set to 0, so TRIM is enabled too.

But my concern is if the TRIM command is actually passed to the SSD because if the Intel sees it as RAID, could this be a problem?

It's the (AMD) chipset at fault here (guessing).

People say why I always buy Intel: here's one more for the list...

As far as TRIM is concerned... it will eventually be worked out for the newest platforms (re: Win7...), but I wouldn't hold my breath for Intel to update ISSDTB for 'other' chipsets soon.

    Good luck.

Well I had the SSD already unused, so just used it. But hoping it won't cause an issue later. I'm assuming the X25-M will have decent enough garbage collection without TRIM if TRIM truly isn't being utilized.

Did you read my first post?

But in any case, that just says TRIM is enabled in Windows 7. It doesn't mean that Intel passes the TRIM command on through the controller. That was what spurred my question. TRIM is enabled, and BIOS set to AHCI, yet the Intel controller sees it as a RAID config.

I'm running my notebook in RAID mode and
    “fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify”
    returns 0.
Even when I run my notebook in IDE mode fsutil returns 0.
It seems to me fsutil is useless to check if TRIM is really active.
It indicates only that the OS supports TRIM, nothing else.

I would install latest chipset Drivers and latest AHCI Drivers from AMD.
    Maybe this solves the problem.

Yes I know, that's what I stated, that it shows TRIM is active in Win7, but no way to tell if it's actually working on the SSD side. I have the latest drivers, and if you look at what boooggy says, he was using older drivers and it was working fine, then he updated to the latest and it gave him issues. So I guess the latest isn't always the greatest. :(

If the previous worked fine, why not roll back?

I don't have previous, other user does, and Asus hasn't released any other AHCI drivers.
