Hi!
Quick question
SSD's generally improve system performance, is more durable, and have no significant impact on battery life (if any, positive impact) correct?
I'm looking for sub-$300 SSD's. The Intel X25M seems like a good choice.
Any other suggestions?

Also, do I just use Acronis to clone the Win7 from my original HDD to install onto my SSD? Any better ways anyone would like to recommend?

Clean install = create backup and then install it?
C300 seems to be 6GB/sec...is it compatible with 3GB/sec? Are there any plces that sell C300 for lower than 300? -
Yes its compatible. And at times the 3GB/sec will run better than the 6.
How many GB you want? -
Just bought a Intel 80GB X25M...$190
clean install = create backup media from Win7 and install into SSD rather than clone the original HDD using Acronis?
What's the best way to reinstall Win7 onto SSD? -
If you want value (or more capacity) and battery life, the best are Samsung, Toshiba and Indilinx. For performance, the best are Marvell (ie. Crucial C300), Sandforce, and Intel.

Well, i found a good deal for the Intel X25M and I bought it
What's the best way to reinstall Win7? -
good choice
Best way to install Win7? Just install it as on a normal HDD - the only thing you should do if not done automatically is switch off auto defragmentation. -
My laptop already has Win7 on its HDD but I dont want to pay for another copy of win7, so just create a backup media?
i could buy WIn7 pro for $30 but idk if its worth it -
You can buy a new one or use the Legal download links on this forum and use the program to save your key.

Can I just make a backup media of the Win7 on my HDD and use it to install Win7 on my SSD? I'm sure I've said this in every other post I dont know why nobody is willing to answer that question. -
you might be lucky and find a 128GB realSSD c300 for around 300. It's probly the top performing SSD right now.
