Since the X9000 is a Socket-P, will it work on the new upcoming laptops that have or use Socket-P Montevina ??? Thanks for any info. God Bless :)

The MV chipset hasn't been known to be backward compatible with the 1st gen Penryns..!!
I would say No (It also depends if the BIOS in the new MV notebooks has support for the older Penryns or not)

Like everyone else has stated, most likely not due to voltage.

You *may* be correct in that MV *may* be backwards compatible. We all know that they can wrong, but Wikipedia states".......Montevina will support Penryn, Intel's 45nm die-shrink version of Core 2 processors......."
    God Bless :)
