Basically as the title suggests, the latest version of Intel XTU claims to have added support for first and second gen Core i CPUs. Just thought I would post this in case anyone is still using those CPUs. Its a good program and offers many easily tweakable features that aren't visible in your system bios.

    Version 5.1.1

Yes but it depends on the bios is fully locked or not. :D

Thanks for the heads-up! Nothing to play with as of now and if I click settings it crashes. Thought that this was the way to overcome the "mod friendly" BIOS, but it's not. Thankfully I'm waiting 920XM :D Is there a specific RAM that can be tweaked, or if the BIOS is locked I'm SO out of luck?

Wait... I am missing something? I am using XTU 2.1 with a 2960xm and it is working fine.

Is the bios slightly open and you use a extreme processor (2960xm) Xtu works as it should. :D

I can confirm that it works with 920XM, but I'm going to use ThrottleStop though :)

Today I've put the CPU in my brother's M17x-R2 to see how far it clocks and yeah, it definitely depends on the machine it is running in. I can only change the multipliers and everything else is grayed-out. Also the Turbo Boost Current is 55A and Turbo Boost Power - 47W (as I said, can't be changed). While the M17 has them both at 62 and can be changed. So yeah, ThrottleStop it is :)

XTU is a pile of poo.. Hasn't shown my CPU speed for ages... Keeps showing 0GHz lol... also forget about undervolting, seems pretty useless for me even when doing that... Gee Intel need to up their game with XTU...
