My old laptop died a long time ago and is beyond repair but is fitted with a core2duo processor.

I just bought a Packard bell argos c2 off ebay i think that's what it is, the seller didn't give any id codes at all only a pic and iv managed to link that with some pics from Google and since it has an xp sticker on it im assuming its the older version with a crappy celeron m processor which i know are utter crap.

Is it possible to replace the celeron m processor with my core2duo cpu from my old laptop? Will it fit?

It hasn't arrived yet so i cant just try atm.

Only way to find out based on that info is try it. Depending on the chipset it may work but since we have no model numbers to work with we don't know anymore than you

Surely you would know if they can even fit in the same slot? same number of pins or not?

Different motherboard versions have different sockets. If it's Celeron with XP it's probably a Merom core or older so it's probably a socket M.
