Well, for one if you have a P4 notebook, you will notice a very large increase in battery life.

See if you can track down a review of the D420 (ULV Core though) and look at it's numbers (SuperPi, PCMark, etc). Try running the same tests on your machine and compare.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it was just as powerful.

my super pi numbers are in the 3:30 to 4:00min range on ac power and the pcmark 04 score 2100 and pcmark 05 was 1050, i guess those speak for themselves

oh yeah...I'm thinking its upgrade time for you.

BTW, if you want ultraportable...you can get even more power in the M1210 and still get a 12" screen and great battery life.

Take a look at the Asus W7J as well. The new Meron version should hit the US within the next couple of months.

If dedicated graphics are not a must, there is the Asus Z35F as well. I have the previous P-M platform version (Z33) with a P-M 2.0Ghz and I love it. I was able to undervolt to the same voltages as a ULV PM using Notebook Hardware Control, but your milage may vary there. I don't know how well the Core Duos or Core 2 Duos undervolt.

Is that a time for SuperPi to 2 Million digits for the P4 that you quoted?

If so, I think it probably is a bunch faster. From a review on this site:

    Gateway E-100M(1.2GHz Core Solo ULV) 2m 02s - Pi to 2M Digits
