Intel has new ARM chips for notebooks/desktops coming.

That didn't take long. A couple of weeks after apple spilling the beans on their arm ambitions, Intel has a new lineup of ARM desktop/notebook chips coming out. I am guessing Microsoft is working feaverishly to ready windows on arm to be more powerful. I am also guessing that software companies are also getting ready to move their programs to arm as well. As said many times previously. Once apple does it, Everyone else HAS to even though apple is a small portion of overall PC sales, they have clout in the business. Interesting times coming up in the next year or two in Personal Computing.

That’s not an ARM based product, what they’re saying is that Intel is doing the equivalent of ARMs big.little with two sets of cores for high and low power/performance. In this case it’s still x86 cores. They’ve talked about something like this for a while. I don’t think it has much specifically to do with just following Apple.

ARMs big.little was already in practical use in the 2013 Galaxy S, some tablets and even a Samsung Chromebook all from 2013 if I recall correctly.

...however Qualcomm's 8CX variant made with MicroSoft brand does make it to the list.
