very impressive results. the low down is that the low end, $300, 2.66 i7 can trounce two 3.2Ghz quad cores on a skull trail motherboard.

Now the question is...how much will c2d quads drop when i7 hits the markets in a couple weeks?
-
im guessing under $200, if that low end model is $300 its has to be well under $200 for it to be a good purchase for some people.
-
Intel is getting pretty annoying with their new **** putting amd further behind as they guzzle more power.
-
Are those processor desktop or mobile?
-
those would be desktop, i dont think the mobile ones will be showing up until atleast the summer.
-
Even if it's desktop, if Clevo can put this in their 9662, it would be one crazy fast laptop.
-
One thing to notice; they didnt bench the traditional way. Lost Planet @ WXGA? Encoding while gaming at WXGA? Notice the I7-920 beat the I7-965...
This seems a bit more reasonable in my opinion. Credit goes to JR, the original post can be found here. Also, I posted the Greek link because the translated link errored for me.
Edit - Calpella ( mobile version of nehalem ) is slated to release Q3 '09 I believe. -
Wow, I am way impressed with the performance for the price they offer, I cannot say anything else, they are just insane, I hope the price of the current Intel Core 2 Quads drop to the price where the Intel Core 2 Duos are right now and the Duos drop even more too, so that I could upgrade my Sager NP9262 to a Q9650, or maybe wait and save up for if Clevo decides to do a Motherboard Refresh to allow Core i7 processors in the Sager NP9262, then I would be dancing all over the place.

Plus why didnt they do other benchmarks? New socket and cpus get 4 benchmarks? Wheres the usual stuff? The Hi-Def encoding ( not WMP9 thank you... ), the extracting/archiving, the usual encoding/rendering/gaming we see? Thats whats getting me... -
Frankly though, I'm not too excited about this CPU. It's not as if I could max out the T9300 under normal use in the first place. Even if I play games(which I rarely do), it's the GPU that's the factor, not the cpu.
And why don't they just run wPrime? -
Very impressive!cant wait to build my desktop
-
time to replace my desktop
-
But i'm holding on to hope; I think it's only a matter of time before they do a refresh. Hopefully by August next yr.

. look elsewhere for proper reviews.
-
Lol, that has to be one of the weakest reviews I've ever seen. 1024x768 resolution? Really?
They do like 3 benchmarks.
