Is that intel p7450 like a dummy version of some chip or a crippled version of the p8000 series?

it has the same specs but maybe didn't live up to the name of the p8000 series?

The P7350 and P7450 should be identical to chips in the P8x00 series save for clock speed. Also, the P7x50 chips are OEM only.

EDIT: The P7350 doesn't support Intel VT or Intel Dynamic Acceleration. Not sure about the P7450.

Like the P7x50 chips go from 2000MHz to 2133MHz, and the P8x00 chips start from 2266MHz... there's no overlap in the clock speed range of both series. This might change in the future, but for now, such is the case.

    thanks

fyi if someone wants to see a control benchmark between the two cpus.

The number is a propriety benchmark software whereas pi is pi.

Interestingly enough i am not sure if p7450 overclocked to 2.26 can reproduce same results as p8400 or not.

    Unfortunately cannot try anymore.

    P8400 2.26 XP 2602
    Pi 1.09

    P7450 2.13 XP 2454
    Pi 1.14
