Intel Pentium Processor T3200 Dual Core Performance (Is this dual core or is it a single processor that gives a dual core performance?
AMD Athlon x2 Dual Core Processor QL62
Please excuse my ignorance but only have a basic understanding of computers and looking to purchase a laptop that does a bit of everything. Will be mainly used for microsoft office, storing and running lots educational programs for children, storing photos (maybe small amount of editing) and internet use.
Which would be the better processor of the 2 for my needs?
Thanks

The Pentium Dual Core is a dual core processor, just not the most powerful and recent one. Its a derivative of the Intel Core designed in 2006. It is still more energy efficent than the AMD, and will give you much more battery time.
It will also run somewhat cooler.
As for power required for your needs, both have plenty of it. -

There is no need to make more than one thread asking the same question. So thread is closed.
