Can anyone tell me what the difference in battery life would be between these two for a 14.1" LT (HP6910p)? Would it be big enough for a non-gamer to take the x3100 even if he can get both at the same price?

    TIA

if they are the same price you want the x2300 (which is a rebranded x1300 from ATI)

try not to get the intel x1300 and the ati x1300 confused. the ATI card is much better.

What I'm wondering is does a non-gamer get anything from having the better card? Also, how much battery life would I be losing with the ATI...

You will get video decoding options via the video card, and since its ATI the results will be better than the Intel.

Also, battery should be the same.

I would get the ATI just because it allows for a little headroom.

you probably lose a few minutes. nothing serious. you get better video playback / decoding. maybe some specific apps will run better that involve video or 3d.

I think Chaz has a post on the Intel X3100, it can game. Especially since the new driver release.
