I'm working on configuring a laptop for a friend, and I'm looking at getting a Vostro 1500 laptop, configured with a Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5270. Another laptop I'm looking at comes with a T5550.

My dilemma: I can't find any sort of review or even the slightest mention of the 5270 anywhere but on configuration pages. She's using this for school and not much more, and though I don't want to short her with a Celeron, I certainly don't want her to spend $125 more on the next upgrade (the T7250), which I can find reviews of.
To note (I've done my homework), I can't even find it on the Intel Processor Finder site, which is a little disconcerting.

The question: Does anyone know anything about the T5270 who can guide me in the right direction?

What little I know about the T5270 and a comparison of T5550, if it's of any help:
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5270 (1.4GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB L2 cache)
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5550 (1.83GHz/667Mhz FSB/2MB L2 cache)

    Thanks everyone,
    Aaron

I have a Vostro 1500 with a T5270 and it's plenty fast for all the basics i.e. web, music, movies, word processor, excel etc.

I'd go with the T5270 because it has a slightly faster FSB, 800mhz vs 667mhz. Now a days CPU's are not as important as they were say a few years ago. Most apps offload to the 3D video card anyways.

The only time to really consider a faster clock speed is if you want to run CPU intensive programs. If your friend is doing the basics stick with the T5270. Now if you were planning to run say Microsoft Flight Simulator X, then i'd say you'll need the fastest CPU available because the program is VERY CPU dependent.

that 800mhz FSB would cause me to go w/ T5270
