I´m considering buying the sager np8230 soon and I´m thinking about upgrading to the Intel® Dual Band AC 7260 for wireless support. However someone mentioned that the routers I intend on connecting to need to be AC compatible? I´m just wondering if I will have problems conecting to the internet down the road, because I travel quiet a bit internationally and use the internet at peoples houses, internet cafes etc....

Doubtful. Other than there only being drivers for Windows 8, there shouldn't be any problem with the WiFi card negotiating a downgraded connection.

No that wifi card supports all four wifi standards so you will be able to connect to any router you want.

maverick1989 is correct. You won't have trouble connecting to any wireless network you run across.
That is actually the beauty of 'AC' wireless: you are guaranteed to have both the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz bands available.
And if you have a choice of which SSID to connect to... you could choose the 2.4GHz band if distance/obstacles (from router) is the highest requirement or, if you're closer to the router/wireless ap; you could choose the 5GHz band to connect to for higher/highest performance and/or less interference from wireless phones, microwaves, other 'noisy' appliances in the same 2.4 band - or - simply to have less congestion from your wireless-equipped neighbors.

If you need to use your setup wireless 'now' though; as stated... either order/configure it with Win8 or you'll be waiting for the Win7 (and lower) drivers to appear.
What I would ask from Sager is to wire it so that it is 3 antennae capable 'now'... then, when you do upgrade (or can connect) to a full spec'd AC router (3-6 antennae): you will want to upgrade to the Intel wireless card that will allow you to use 3 spatial streams at once.
(I would not wait. Windows 8 is already 'there' - and with SP1, aka Win 8.1... it will continue to be the dominate O/S going forward).
Good luck.
