    The dv6700 series notebooks have a max of 4GB, reguardless of what the chipset supports.

    from your signature, it seems like you already have 4gb of memory installed. If your question is, if its possible to upgrade to 8gb of memory, well most likely not. Their are different revisions of the intel 965 chipset, and only a handful of the high end notebooks on the market can make use of 8gb of memory.
    There really is no need for more than 4gb in a notebook, so stick with 4gb :D
