Sounds like a die hard AMD fan trying to justify that Intel doesn't have the best processors right now. When AMD was killing the P4 with the Athlon 64 magazines and websites stated that the 64 was better because it was. Now that Intel has the Core 2 Duo series, it is the same thing, magazines and websites say its the best right now because it is. Its not a conspiracy because back when it was between the 64 and the P4, they showed the 64 ahead even with all ad money Intel was giving them.

It's well known that SuperPi results are very much dependent on L2 cache, you only have to look at the ~25% speed boost between an equivalently clocked CD and C2D to see that. As a genuine indicator of performance it is virtually useless... except for bragging rights. ;)

The author's concerns regarding potential bias and/or tampering by certain tech websites is valid, by he does seem to think that Intel is being singled out for favourable treatment at the moment, and this is simply not true.

If a few websites or magazines of dubious reputation or otherwise were singing the praises of the C2D, while most were less than overwhelmed there would be cause for concern... but when everybody is in the choir either it's true or Intel is handing out an awful lot of freebies.

Not surprisingly, the author also appears to be a regular poster at AMDzone.

    Nothing but a BS rant.

Every tech site I have seen posts the benchmarks at stock speeds and at the highest OC they could attain. Some even put the OCed results in a separate section at the end. Both AMD and Intel receive the same treatment.
