I will be purchasing a new laptop in the next few months (Alienware Area 51 or Clevo likely) and I was curious about the TV Tuner options.

How good are the internal options compared to some of the USB or ExpressCard options out there? I can't seem to pinpoint a single USB / ExpressCard TV Tuner (HD Capable) that is above and beyond the rest. I did find the Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick, that seems to be well liked but I am still curious.

Internal and external TV tuners should do the exact same thing, assuming that their specs are the same. The advantage of the internal one is that you have a free port (be it EC, USB, etc) not being used by the external tuner. It's great if you use the tuner often and are on the go.
