I was just wondering - my 3820tg has an internal connector for a bluetooth module - is it only for bluetooth? Could it be converted to anything else?

My knowledge of the laptop connectors is quite limited. I was just wondering if I could add anything else in there.

    Thanks.

the connector is USB based and runs off 3.3v. theres really not a lot you could connect to it other than bluetooth and that without taking into consideration the space confinements.

you can buy bluetooth adapters which are suitable on ebay

Hmm, that's what I figured would be the case. I suppose you can't convert it to a standard internal usb slot?

I have been thinking about bluetooth, but I'm not too sure if I'll need it.

If you grab power from a different 5V source you could. there would be no current regulation of course but then again, most usb devices are not designed to draw more current than specified by USB 2.0 spec
