I am planning to upgrade my RAM to 2GB 667MHz, and currently I have a 1GB (2 512MB) RAM @ 533MHz. I just wanted to to know if I my system is compatible with 667MHz RAM. I have a Dell Inspiron 6400, Core Duo 2.0GHz Processor, ATI X1400.

ok ok I just opened CPU-Z and I heard that the RAM should match the FSB and my Rated FSB is 665MHz, but the problem is I just checked my current RAM (2 512MB DDR2 533MHz) and I got a 266MHz Frequency!!!! and it should be 533MHz!!! Is there a problem with the RAM???? I posted a couple of screenshots. Is there anything I can do to fix this??

    266 * 2 = 533 MHz :) Nothing wrong.

667 MHz RAM should work fine on your Core Duo.

    Charlie :)

PC5400 667 MHz RAM will work with all core duos except the 2050 and the 2250. Even so, it will still work on those, it just won't operate at 667 MHz.
