as real as it gets.

No PC CPU is "real" 64-bit. The 64-bit support is in the form of extensions glued on top of 32bit extensions glued on top of a 16-bit CPU that is made to be compatible with an 8-bit CPU.
So it's a far cry from "proper" 64-bit CPU's, which aren't used in PC's.
But yes, the Core 2 is as "real" 64-bit as an Athlon 64 or any other PC CPU.

so i have an CoreDuo T2050, it`s only 32bit, will it not work with an 64bit operating system at all?

No, it wont. If you want to use a 64 bit OS then you will need either the Core 2 Duo or any AMD(Athlon/Turion/current Sempron) series processor.
-
Can you install 32bit apps in a 64bit OS?
-
Yes, at least if you are talking about XP X64 or Vista 64bit.
-
You can try Itanium processors. They are almost pure 64bit because the 32bit runs very slowly.

What do you mean? (Or who were you replying to?)
Anyway, yes, a 64-bit CPU can run 32 or 64 bit OS'es, and a 64 bit OS can run 32 or 64 bit applications.
(And by 64-bit CPU I mean Core 2 or Athlon/Turion, and not any "pure" 64 bit CPU's) -

Most of the time yes. However, it doesn't work the other way around; 64-bit apps cannot be installed on a 32-bit OS.
Is Core 2 Duo 'real' 64bit based?
