    I recently purchased an Lenovo T61 laptop. The official specification says the memory is of 667MHz, but when I tested with CPU-Z, got frequency=332.2MHz for the memory (I have one stick of 1G memory in one of the two slots.)

    Is Lenovo cheating?

    I'm getting sick of answering this question. Its DDR2 ram. That means it runs at 2x the frequency. Do the math.

    And next time, do a search.

    667MHZ= Front Side Bus
    333MHZ= Actual Frequency
    DDR= Double Data Rate
    2 x Actual Frequency= Front Side Bus

    Just like Intel Processors Quad Pump Technology 4 x Actual Frequency= Front Side Bus

    I think it was just funny wording. It sounded like you ment that because it was ddr"2" you multiplied it by 2 to get your actually speed. ;)

    No, DDR1 and DDR2 are the same in terms of FSB(Front Side Bus) Calculation.
