So PerfectDisk advertises that they don't really defragment an SSD but they do something called Free Space Consolidation
What in the world does that mean?
and is this good or bad for an SSD? I hope it's not just some marketing gimmick

The idea behind it is to divide the data on the SSD as evenly as possible into the blocks of storage contained in the SSD. That (at least theoretically) reduces the number of blocks that need to go through program/erase cycles when data is written to the SSD, thereby prolonging the SSD's life. As few people have workloads that would exhaust all the program/erase cycles of a modern SSD in less than 5 years, the process is largely unnecessary. However, for those who do have heavier workloads and who do not want to pay more for an enterprise drive, it could be helpful.

well what I wanna know that if it does more harm than good

I would say a marketing gimmick unless they know exactly how the controller operates (i.e. source code), they don't know where the data is actually on the SSD, only where the controller says it is to the file system which is probably just a pointer to the actual data on the SSD. Even if it did move it, the SSD will move it sooner or later (likely sooner) for wear leveling purposes.

I don't think it will do any good. Just a waste of time. The SSD's internal routines will take care of itself.
