I was just wondering what would make my computer faster so i could possibly play games on max settings like skyrim. I was wondering if the gpu or and the graphics card is upgradable on my laptop. If so what should i go with. Any help would be appreciated. It has a 4500u intel i7 dual core at 1.8 ghz and a nvidia geforce 745m.

    Nope, the Q550 doesn't have a MXM-type GPU, so it's not upgradeable.

You could upgrade the RAM and storage drive, but those do not offer much improvement in gaming.

ASUS are TERRIBLE laptops as far as upgrading and repairing as of the last few years. Five million cables and screws, little to no parts availability and integrated graphics.

The EVO is a decent drive. Find out the specs if your laptop's HDD bay (very likely, it's 2.5" 9.5mm height), and make sure that the SSD is that height. Though smaller SSDs, like 7mm height, will sometimes have a 2.5mm spacer; if it doesn't, you can just trim a piece of cardboard or something to get a snug fit.
