In previous years, Computex has been one of highlights of the year for notebook aficianados--lots of news about upcoming models, previews and unveilings.
This year, it seems, all we got were a handful of netbooks.
Did I miss something or was this a bit of a letdown?

I was disappointed much of the netbooks were as powerful as quarter-portable cellphones (smartbook my bottoms). I mean, , why would you run Windows Mobile or CE the size of a netbook. And that now, they're trying to showcase weak cellphone-sized computers running XP, its like they switched souls or something.
Just my 2 cents -
Computex had less to offer in part to the on going economic "crisis" the world's economies are currently facing. But also note that visitors were very few this year, from vendors I have discussed they say this years show was one of the slowest they have been at. Very few visitors and even fewer buyers.

Not sure the ecoomy is the culprit--a lot of these products are in the production cycle a year or so in advance so I would have expected a drop next year when this years cuts in R&D are felt.
We have seen several notebooks come out in the last three months that normally would have been held for computex, so it seems the event has less value to ODMs now.
The Asus w90, the new Alienware (which was released at E3 instead of computex), the 15 inch Clevo refresh and the two DTR notebooks from Clevo all would have been held under wraps until Computex in previous years but snuck out in the last 2 months
Is it just me or was Computex a bit of a letdown?
