I recently upgraded memory RAM to 4G for DV6500 and in the future I intend to upgrade my vista from 32 bit to 64 bit.

I am a little bit confused regarding with my Intel GM965 express set. Is it true that I can’t utilize more memory by upgrading/installing 64bit Vista due to my intel 965 set?
So I can still see about the 3G RAM (physically 4G) of RAM in vista 64bit?

    Many thanks.

Once you upgrade to x64, you computer will be able to utilize all 4GB of memory.

Do you mean install 64bit vista will not solve the problem (not able to utilize 4G)?
I always read opinion that pro and against it in this NBR discussion.

WSFrazier was correct with his/her post, jisaac is correct that there can be limitations other than OS in the ability to make use of 4GB's of RAM. I tried to express that in this case not an issue. So revert back to WSFrazier's post. You will be able to use the 4GB's. Hope this helps.

Hi powerpack. I posted my last comment before I read your post.
I don't mean the pro and against opinions in this my discussion. But I read in other NBR discussions, someone was not able to see the 4GB with chipset even using Vista 64bit because his/her notebook comes with Intel 965 chipset.
It is confusing me. (and feel regret my RAM upgraded to 4GB)

Thanks powerpack. Your comment make me confidence that I made right decision in upgrading to 4GB and I will go installing vista 64bit
