Hey just looking for a answer to the age old question of can i upgrade graphics in my laptop. I know I know its near impossible with an integrated one because the pci or something is disables on the motherboard. What I'm wondering is it possible to do so on the gateway M 1617 not through the 15 pin VGA input but possibly through the HDMI port? Is it possible at all to upgrade this unit?

I'm not quite sure I fully understand your question.... you want to upgrade your graphics card through HDMI?

Two things:
1. I also am confused to what you want
2. That link is dead -

The GPU is not upgradeable. It is most likely to be soldered to the motherboard, since Gateway offers fixed configs and not a CTO, so I don't think the GPU would even have a MXM or proprietary form factor.
HDMI..I don't get it either.... -
You cant connect a graphics card through HDMI.
Is it possible to..
