Not really sure if this question belongs here or not....

I'm deciding between the Asus W3J and the Compal HEL80, I think I'm leaning towards the Asus W3J but I think the screen is too small for gaming but I really like the design and portability. So I was wondering if it was possible to hook it up to my dell monitor when I am in my dorm room..

Does hooking it up to an external monitor affect gaming performance in anyway?

    Thanks...

both have vgas, so unless the monitor only has a dvi cord itll work. I've never heard about delay, but if there was it'd probably be small and unnoticeable

Indeed, there should be no problem hooking up to your Dell monitor.

Thanks for the reply, I was also wondering if I should get a laptop cooler for the Asus? I might end up using it/playing quite alot on certain days...

What kind of cooler would you guys recommend if I should get one?

Well wait until You know if it gets too hot or not. Why spend money on something that might not be needed? There is a great chance that the laptop will play the games fine and imho they should/would build it to handle the heat even from gaming :p

Targus Coolpad. Just stick it underneath your notebook, and close the lid.

And then hook it up via the VGA port.

I recommend putting your notebook under the table or something.
