I have all there of the next gen systems. I want to play them on my laptop screen. I am looking for a device that lets me hook up those systems using either component HD or HDMI. I already have an awesome HDTV but it is always in use. My laptop screen is perfect for gaming. It is 17 inch wide screen. Is there such a device and if so, where do I get it?

Is that a HD connection with component or HDMI or is it just a 480i connection?

The best way would be a TV tuner because most notebooks do not have input ports, only output.

Yeah, I believe that is the only way, however, TV-tuners usually have a bit of lag from receiving the signal to displaying it on the screen. Playing games would be nigh impossible if the TV-tuner were to lag.

If your willing to spend +$1000 for such a card (NOT USB) then knock yourself out, that's how much HD Capture cards cost, and those are only the ones that do up to 1080i. Your best bet is to purchase a TV Tuner and do SDTV composite (red, white, yellow) -in on your next-gen systems or just stick with your HDTV. Your better off doing that.

Edit: I have a USB tv tuner and I get no "bit of lag" when I play my Xbox 360. But it is true that some usb TV Tuners lag, usually the ones with hardware encoders do this. The ones with software encoders work the processor a bit but at least you dont get that nasty lag.

You can get an LCD Monitor for a couple hundred bucks. Advantages? Game play and a second screen for your laptop. -or- get an analog capture card for about a hundred and use your laptop screen. Disadvantages? Lower resolution and probable lag...

    http://www.everythingusb.com/hardware/index/Leadtek_WinFast_TV_USB_II_Deluxe.htm

I bought it two years ago. It works very well in Xp but it has problems in Vista. Usually in XP Sound and video both go through USB but in Vista only video comes through usb. You have to bring sound through the card's line out and plug it into your laptop's line in in order to get sound. It's an analog tv tuner so the picture is gets kind of grainy and stuff compared to a digital.
