depends on the BIOS compatibility and that is probably going to break it for you.. Probably upgrading to the 880M is the best you can do..

also, some laptops have different heatsinks for both brands. The AMd ehatsink and in Precision is different from the nVidia heatsink.

This is something you should ask MSI rep about. But from the site it doesn't go any higher then a GTX880M. So what model do you have sounds like a older model and the only one that comes up with that search is those with GTX880M. And unless the GPU is modular your option to upgrade is very limited to buying a newer model with latest GPU chipset.

MSI GT series GPU's are MXM so that's not a problem.. BIOS compatibility will be a issue...

And we assume MSI chipset allows GPU upgrade or they will make a upgraded GPU......so it's not just BIOS compatibility alone here...to consider. And also Cost for a GPU could render such upgrade mute as well.

What MSI chipset? MSI will definetly make MSI GPU's... The cost of GPU's are always a problem...

And the gains for the gpu better be higher return then the card being replaced otherwise it was a fruitless upgrade to make. Not everyone makes all their GPU cards.
