    You should be able to grab a 9 cell from asus or a reseller pretty easy.

    Very nice! Call them on the phone and see if they will replace with 9-cell, but think they would at a minimum sell you an extra 9-cell. Just call and ask, I am sure if I look around I could find but you have all the power now as part of the sale so investigate. Good luck.

    Thanks :)

    I called Asus and apparently all the major resellers *should* have 9 cell models on order but they are currently sold out. (The resellers I've been to said that they contacted Asus about 9 cell models and have gotten no reply...so they assumed they weren't selling them in Australia).

    I asked if it were possible for me to buy a 6 cell one and upgrade it later and she said it has to go through Asus....is this true? Would I be able to just go to any computer store and get it upgraded?

    I think you are talking exchange? And yes that would have to go through Asus. But you could certainly buy an extra. One compromise, suggestion I might have is. If you could negotiate a better price (through Asus of course) it is not the resellers fault the 9-cell is not available so they should not and cannot take the hit but Asus can. Talk throw things at them and don't give up, that is how one gets a deal. Good luck, and once again that is a very handsome notebook!

    I mean like is it possible to buy a 6 cell model then have a computer store replace that 6 cell battery with a 9 cell? Or do I just have to wait for the 9 cell to be available?

    I'm not good at throwing things at people xD I'm meek....always get other people to ask for deals >.>

    *EDIT* Someone just told me that you can simply buy a 9 cell battery, take out the 6 cell, and put in the 9 cell. Is it really as simple as that?

    Yes! It is that simple! Not the issue, they are interchangeable.

    Thank you! :D
    I didn't know batteries for laptops were removable and interchangable ^^;

    Though apparently the 9 cell batteries aren't for sell yet *grr*...but a battery for the F3 series works on it as well apparently. Would you happen to know if the F3 series 9-cell Battery 90-NI11B2000Y is the same as http://www.asusnotebook.com.au/productdetails.php?ProductID=6971 ?
