    Hello,

I'd like to give a second life to my first laptop ASUS A3500L and upgrade it somehow. Is it possible?

Is it possible to upgrade the CPU (Celeron M 360 1.4) ?

    Year of manufacture: 2005
    Detailed specs: http://linux-hardware.org/index.php?probe=d8c5ebb02e

    Thank you.

Yes, it's possible to upgrade that notebook. However, it's woefully unprepared for modern software; its technology is over a decade old. Also, upgrading will likely be expensive, since compatible parts are likely scarce.
Even the $179 Windows netbooks sold today will have better performance than your ASUS, not to mention better battery life; the battery in your ASUS probably died long ago.

You might be able to upgrade to another Dothan core processor. The Pentium M 755 may work. Just be aware, the Pentium M is not going to make a huge difference in performance over the Celeron. I have an old HTPC that had a Celeron M 370 and I upgraded it to a Pentium M 755 and did not notice much of a difference. The good thing is those processors can be bought pretty cheap on e-bay (only a few dollars) so if you are bored and want to upgrade it, go for it.

A search on e-bay for the Pentium M 755 shows they are being sold for around 10 Dollars.

For my money it's not worth it....you can only do so much but a Celeron going to another Celeron...that isn't worth it.

It's actually a Celeron to a Pentium. Still not much of a difference in performance though.
