I own a Satellite 5105-S501 Laptop and even though it has a few years on it, I think it still kicks. I do wonder if it's possible to upgrade my laptop rather than dishing out the $'s for a new one. So my questions:
    Can one upgrade the MotherBoard?
Can one upgrade to USB 2.0?
My laptop has a limit of 1 Gg of RAM....I would like to add more.

1.7-GHz Pentium 4, 768 MB RAM, 120 GB hard drive.

no, you cant, there are no set standards for laptop motherboards, so the only motherboard you can get is replacement motherboard

Unfortunately no, you cannot upgrade your motherboard.
Your processor can be upgraded to a 2.6ghz P4M processor.
Unfortunately you will not be able to put more than 1gb of memory in your system, since that is the limit.

You will be able to get more performance out of your machine if you upgrade your harddrive to a 7K100 series 7200rpm drive, or a 250Gb 5400rpm drive.
