Is it true you can change volume in BIOS?
This is rather a strange request. I have read somewhere in a thread on notebookreview.com that it is possible, but I can't seem to find it again. I am quite clued up with computers, but never heard about this!

I have an Asus A6K-Q013H Notebook. If you own one, you would know the sound is quite crappy (other than that, it's a great laptop!). I bought myself some external USB speakers, but even if my sound are set to the max in windows sounds and audio devices, it just don't seem to perform the way I want it to.

Any suggestions of how I can increase the volume? (Without having to buy external speakers with a volume dial which you can just turn the knob!)

    Cheers

I don't think that we can adjust the volume in BIOS, no any setting in BIOS can show us about this. External speakers or an PCMCIA sound card can make a difference.

If you can, let me know. My E1505 speakers are wayyyyyy too loud. I keep it at about 2-3 clicks above mute, and sometimes (mostly with videos) it's just too loud. So if I could limit the volume, that'd be great.

Open your Windows Volume Control applet (double-click the little speaker icon in the system tray) and bring down the "WAVE" setting - most likely it's at maximum, which would make even low master volumes sound blaringly loud.

I also looked in my BIOS, but there is no such options that I can make my audio louder (that's what I expected).

Does anyone know how I can increase the audio for my notebook? Any bright ideas? Or do I just have to make peace with my laptop speakers and accept that's the way they gonna stay? :(

    Cheers

probably not news to most, but the function key volume controls (fn) control the hardware, which trumps the software volume sliders. But chances are your volume buttons or dials perform the same function...
