    Hi guys.

I have a Logitech G7 mouse that is acting up at times. It can get very choppy/laggy. When this happens, I have attempted to use the trackpad instead and it works just fine. So I've determined it is a mouse issue...

The power cable for my laptop does not go behind the laptop, but towards me and then to the floor - so it actually forms a path between my mousepad and the laptop itself.

At times there is only a few inches between my mouse and the cable. Could this cable be causing significant EMI that I'm noticing?

I'd say the mouse or the receiver is bad. The power cable to your notebook doesn't emit EMI.

Don't think it could be a cable - but is your Wi-Fi card running at a high throughput by any chance?

I know that my Wi-Fi adapter can interfere with my Bluetooth mouse causing it to lag - BUT my Wi-Fi adapter is then running at 30% load pushing files onto my home server (and yes, I know I have a bad router).

Interesting theory. It's hard to say if I've been using WiFi heavily when the lag occurs... But it's strange how the mouse only acts up in certain areas of my home. And there doesn't seem to be anything (microwaves, etc) around that might cause any interference I can think of.

Next time it happens, I'll see what my WiFi is doing. I wonder what frequency my mouse is using. I know that wireless network typically runs on 2.4Ghz range...

If you check the web, your mouse is also running on a 2,4GHz band - nearly everything nowadays is.
